CLF protects New England’s environment for the benefit of all people. They use the law, science and the market to create solutions that preserve our natural resources, build healthy communities, and sustain a vibrant economy.
I started at CLF as the Bookkeeper after I moved to Boston. I quickly was promoted to Senior Staff Accountant and reported to the Director of Finance. I managed the Bookkeeper, AP, AR and all the reporting for the Director for Board meetings.
CLF was very similar to Global Green USA in size of staff and budget so I enjoyed seeing how two similar companies operated. I enjoyed learning new software and working with the accounting team.
One of the best compliments I received was when I first started and the CEO popped into my office and said, "I want to thank you for bringing a sense of calm to the accounting department."
One of my favorite things I brought to the company besides my work ethic, humor and calmness was getting them to install duel flush toilets and waterless urinals in all the bathrooms. I know that might sounds odd but given my passion for environmental and the fact that the company is an environmental charity, this is something that is still used to this day and has saved many gallons of water.
After a few winters in Massachusetts I decided I wanted to return to warmer climates. I spent about 6 months vetting opportunities in California until I chose Team Jenn.
